Portsmouth Abbey students talked with fourth graders at St. Philomena School yesterday about "Leading a Balanced Life." They talked about energy needs for an active life, making an activity plan, and ideas for reducing stress or anxiety. This class was the third of a four-class series for Teens Leading Children, a nearly 30-year tradition that pairs Abbey and St. Phil's students together. The original curriculum was written by Abbey school nurse Nancy Weida. Other topics include decision making and staying safe at home and online. Portsmouth Abbey student teachers include Anny Angel '17, Hannah Banderob '17, Emily Bredin '17, Emma Butler '16, Grace Gibbons '17, Diana Oakes '17, Lillie Souvannavong '17, and Matias Wawro '17. Many thanks to these students and to Dean of Residential Life Paula Walter!
