The Abbey's Church of St. Gregory the Great won a 2014 Honor Award in the category of Religious Architecture: Restoration from Faith & Life Magazine and The Interfaith Forum on Religion, Art and Architecture. The seven-year, $4 million church restoration was completed in 2009. Portsmouth Abbey's Director of Operations, Mr. Paul Jestings, and School Archivist and Historian, Dom Damian Kearney O.S.B., '45, accepted the award from Glenn Gardiner, principal at Northeast Collaborative Architects, which orchestrated the church restoration, and Faith & Form Editor-in-Chief, Mr. Michael Crosbie.
