Abbey students and chaperones headed to Gunstock Mountain in Gilford, NH, for a full day of skiing or snowboarding. The group boarded the bus at dawn for a three-hour ride to the beautiful mountain resort just south of Lake Winnipesaukee.
A few students are taking lessons; other experienced skiers and boarders will hit the slopes immediately, but all will enjoy a full day on the mountain. "I've never skied before, so I'm a little nervous," says Third- Form student Sarabeth Surber, who will take her first ski lesson tomorrow. "I'm from Florida!"
When Dean of Residential Life Paula Walter announced the trip at assembly, she helped to boost student enthusiasm a bit higher with a pitch for the importance of "Ravens playing in the snow."
